Pittston
Mary Ann Sweeney, 92 of Pittston, passed away at Wesley Village on August 26. A memorial service followed by interment will be held at 10:30am on Friday, September 1 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Ruane & Mudlock Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Parrish St. Wilkes-Barre.

I am so sad to hear of my cousins death and would like to speak of her life in this guestbook. Mary Ann was the person I looked up to as a child growing up in Pittston. She graduated from Pittston Hospital School of nursing and practiced in the area at various hospitals until taking on a high level nursing position at Valley Crest until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick “Packy” Sweeney, and her parents Beatrice (Betty) and Norbert Bolen as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mary Ann was a devoted “mom” to many beloved dogs with Trapper, one of the favorites, among them. After Mary Ann and Packy retired they spent time in New York State where Mary Ann cooked the fish that Packy caught. Mary Ann was a member of St, Mary’s Church and even as she aged, she could be seen waking to church or to the nearby food store. Mary Ann lived a life of service and kindness. May she Rest In Peace.
