Inkerman

Ken Michaels 70 of Inkerman, passed away January 9th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in 1950 in Philadelphia to the late Jean (Jennie) and John Michaels. He graduated from Pittston Area High School and retired from Techneglas at the age of 55. He enjoyed fishing in upstate New York and also working on cars, especially his Corvette. He was a board member of The Lithuanian Club of Inkerman, and a member of the PAV Plains.

Surviving are his wife of 18 years, the former Teresa Healey. He is also survived by his children, son John Michaels and his wife Salina and their daughter Katie, Port Griffith, daughter ChristieRhoades and her husband Tony, and their daughter Emma, Texas, daughter Kelly Shupe and her husband James, Texas; cousins Janice Martin and Joyce Capone, good friends Pete Moska and Tom Murphy, his cat Oreo, who never left his side, and Numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Allied Services Hospice especially Deb and Doreen who were so kind to Ken, and to Medical Oncology of Kingston especially Dr. Bruce Saidman and Priscilla Cooney and all of the nurses who went out of their way to make Ken’s treatment tolerable, and also to Dr. Gerald Gibbons.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

Although I haven’t seen Kenny in years, I have many memories of Kenny growing up. Walking to school over Thompson Street, Playing baseball on Sunday afternoons, tag, Going to Wildwood N.J.every summer with him and his mom. He was a great guy. My Deepest Sympathy to all his family.
