Anthony Clapps, Jr., 83, of Exeter, passed away on Monday, December 17th at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. His wife, Adrianne “Cookie” Clapps passed away in September.
Anthony was born in Pittston to the late Anthony and Anna Serratore Clapps. After graduating from the Milton Hershey School and then College as a Machinist. Anthony served in the Army. He retired after working for 50 years as a truck driver and then worked as a machinist.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his favorite cousin , Anthony Donnora.
In addition to his parents, and his wife, Anthony was preceded in death by two infant children Anthony Joseph and Anthony Ernest, granddaughter Courteney Clapps, and brothers Thomas and Eugene.
Surviving are his sons Bob Clapps and wife Christine and Richard Clapps and wife Krysten, daughter Mary Ann Lombardo; grandchildren Lexie Lombardo, Richard Clapps, Jr., Felicia Clapps, Shawna Clapps, and Kayla Clapps; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 9:30am in St. Barbara’s Parish, Exeter. There are no calling hours.
